The client

Sebastian, one of the founders of BucksApp, went through tough times. As a bachelor’s degree graduate from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, he faced financial distress numerous times, as did many of his friends and classmates. His experience inspired him and Percy to fund a startup that helps students get small advances to alleviate their cash flow problems and build their credit score. They chose Moove It to turn their idea into a mobile app solution for students in the United States.

Lending providers in the United States face daunting regulations and requirements before they can set up in business. Moove It was hired to generate a detailed and feasible product plan that helped BucksApp validate its business and product ideas before making the investment decision.

When BucksApp came to us, their goal was to disrupt the microlending space. Understanding the business rules, opportunities and constraints, was critical for both teams in order to refine ideas and then land on the best way to solve them.

Prototyping

We designed the mobile app to provide a simple, uncluttered user experience that centered around making loan requests simple. UX design drove the process of writing requirements into a usercentered specification.

Technical Asessment

In order to assess the feasibility of BucksApp’s tech architecture decisions, our technical team built functional proofofconcepts (PoC) and deployed them in a staging server. They helped the client select the right combination of third-party services for processing loans and payments.

Project Level Estimation & Software Development

We provided a project level estimate that allowed BucksApp to forecast the project timeline, team composition and investment requirements. All the artifacts resulting from our product discovery services are owned by our clients, so they can be handed off to any agile software development team. Our work could have ended right there. However, BucksApp decided to utilize Moove It’s software development services to build the app.

Users can record transactions, track their balances; both at the bank and in cash. They can set up recurring expenses for regular outgoing payments.

The app evaluates the user’s spending habits so they can improve their financial behavior on the go.

The app allows users to spend smarter. They can set a limit for each category and set an alert when they are close to exceeding their budgets.

Integrations with Equifax for data reporting, and Experian for data verification. Users pay on time and build their credit scores.
