Remontando
The Challenge
To compete in a contest for innovative ideas for the National Ceibal Plan (the counterpart of the One Laptop per child project). We presented the idea of creating a social network for all Ceibal’s users called “Remontando” (the effect of flying a kite).
Our solution
We won! And we are currently developing a colorful and dynamic Web Site to improve communications among children, teachers and educational institutions. Group and team work are some of the key concepts to promote, keeping children connected and motivated. Learn, Play, Share, and Have lots of Fun. This is all possible with Remontando! The One Laptop Per Child Association, Inc. (OLPC) is a U.S. non-profit organization setup to oversee the creation of an affordable educational device for use in the developing world. Its mission is "to create educational opportunities for the world's poorest children by providing each child with a rugged, low-cost, low-power, connected laptop with content and software designed for collaborative, joyful, self-empowered learning." “Uruguay is the first country in accept the challenge”
