M2M communications consists of using a device (e.g., sensor, meter, etc.) to capture an "event" (e.g., temperature, inventory level, location, environment status, etc.), relayed through a network (e.g., wireless, wired or hybrid) to an application (software program), translating the captured event into meaningful information (e.g., there is a breach, corrosion requires attention, items need to be restocked, an accident has occurred, etc.)

Victeams is a Facebook application developed on Ruby on Rails that is used to collect crime data and show crime statistics in Venezuela.
Through integration with Google Maps and Flex, each user can select the exactly place what a crime happened and also see some statistics.

Right now Angola has no online maps of their cities, making access to information about interest places and establishments difficult.

Datangol is the first social network that has as primary objective to provide an online map of the Luanda city (Angolas capital). It allows users to search for establishments, schedule meetings with friends, exchange comments, and more. Right now a beta version of the site is being developed and will soon be published.
